Conference in Pristina Brings Together 41 Participants from Across Europe and Asia: Focus on Islam, Identity, and Societal Challenges

The Faculty of Islamic Studies in Pristina successfully hosted the international conference “The Role of Muslim Scholars and Intellectuals in Europe”, bringing together 41 participants from various European and other countries. The event was jointly organized by the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Pristina and the Center for Advanced Studies in Sarajevo.

Over the course of the two-day program, participants engaged in eight sessions exploring the role of Muslim scholars and intellectuals in contemporary Europe, as well as the challenges and opportunities they face. Special attention was given to topics such as identity and integration, interfaith dialogue, the position of Muslim women in Europe, education, the impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence on Islamic thought, and the preservation of religious identity and cultural heritage.

The conference was officially opened by Mufti Naim Tërnava, President of the Islamic Community of Kosovo; Prof. Dr. Islam Hasani, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Pristina; and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Alibašić, Director of the Center for Advanced Studies in Sarajevo.

The event provided an opportunity to strengthen academic and institutional ties, and to exchange experiences and ideas in an open and constructive atmosphere on the contributions of Muslim intellectuals to European society.
